Surabaya

Rented a bus again for a whole day (about $25 a day, driver, gas, and toll included!) and went to Surabaya were Mam used to live. We visited her old school and took a pictures of her sitting in the classroom (pupils all laughing of course). We also saw were tante Edith had ballet lessons and visited the old house where they used to live (sad to see how it all changed into a big mess). We also went to Zangrandi, a place where they used to get ice-cream (turned out that the current owner's aunt lives in Zoetermeer).

Hi, I read your story on the Surabya-trip. When I was yopung I lived there, repatriated in jan 1958. Now I'm writing little stories for my friends about my childhood in Indonesia. And I remember my mother told me about eating ice somewhere in the Tundjungan-Soerabaja. Maybe it was the ZANGRANDI??
Is there a chance that you have made pictures of the place. And if so, like to share it with me??
If so, I'm very gratefull,
