Oud-Valkeveen
Tante Dicky does not have just a usual garden, she has a very special one: Playpark Oud Valkeveen. She invited us to visit the park many times before and today we finally managed to go. The playpark is very nice, Vincent had loads of fun. And famous people of course drive famous cars, so what does famous Tante Dicky drive: yep, you guessed it...Have a look at the pictures here...

Hedwig Jeanne Marise
We have a new niece: Hedwig Jeanne Marise, born on 11 August 2004. We call her Marise and she is the daughter of Monique and Menno, named of course after her Oma Hedwig. Joas already predicted it would be a girl and his wishes came true, he now has a pretty little sister.More pictures...

Zandvoort
The tennis and squash guys gave me a free ride on the Zandvoort racing track last year for my birthday, so I went there last Saturday. It was a lot of fun and even usefull to learn how to control your car in very difficult circumstances, like when your driving on the extreme wet or even on ice. Amazing how applying the correct breaking, steering and throttle techniques at the right time can help you control a car that seems completely out of control.Posted on August 16, 2004 at 12:20 PM in Cars, Jacques & Hester, Tennis | Permalink| Comments (2)
Liberation Day
Today we went to the memorial service to remember the liberation of the Dutch Indies from the Japanese on 15 August 1945. It's amazing to see so many Dutch Indonesian people together, it seems like every where you look you see a relative. The service was held at the Dutch Indies monument, the same monument where we bring flowers after a funural, as we did with Oma Hedwig... We met with tante Euge and Muriel and went to the cemetary to visit Oma Hedwig's grave and show her monument with the replica of the Tlaga Biru painting.Posted on August 16, 2004 at 12:38 AM in Opa Maurits | Permalink| Comments (0)
Knight
He may not look like one but actually Opa Maurits is a Knight. Dutch Indies liberation day is one of the rare occasions where Opa Maurits wears his medal of honour.Posted on August 16, 2004 at 12:25 AM in Opa Maurits | Permalink| Comments (0)

We went to the shopping center to get some DVDs when we saw a band playing in front of the shop. It sounded quite nice so we bought the CD and Vincent got the guys to sign it with their autographs. So everybody, buy the new CD of Wealthy Beggar, only then we will be able to put our unique copy up for sale on eBay for loads of money ;-)Leave California...
