Italy: Firenze
We had to see Florence, eventhough it was quite a long drive, almost 3 hours. Brunelleschi's Dome on Piazza del Duomois is a beautifully architected building. The famous scultpure of David by Michelangelo is on Piazza della Signori, in front of the historic cityhall. Well, sort of, it's a replica, the original is now in a museum. We saw the Ponte Vecchio as well, which is nice provided that you view it with a 300mm telelens. The ancient historic bridge is pretty from a distance, but turns into a touristic commercial juwelery center from up close! Fortunately you can get icecream. Just bring 30 euros.More pictures: Overview Slideshow Italy
