Encyclopedia
Opa is leaving soon to go to Indonesia again, so this is the last time he can read with Vincent before he leaves. Opa finds that Vincent's view on the world should be extended beyond cars. So he reads from the kids encyclopedia. So if you now ask Vincent: 'Who is that really really smart guy?', he answers: 'Einstein!'Posted on February 14, 2005 at 01:57 PM in Opa Maurits | Permalink| Comments (0)

Liberation Day
Today we went to the memorial service to remember the liberation of the Dutch Indies from the Japanese on 15 August 1945. It's amazing to see so many Dutch Indonesian people together, it seems like every where you look you see a relative. The service was held at the Dutch Indies monument, the same monument where we bring flowers after a funural, as we did with Oma Hedwig... We met with tante Euge and Muriel and went to the cemetary to visit Oma Hedwig's grave and show her monument with the replica of the Tlaga Biru painting.Posted on August 16, 2004 at 12:38 AM in Opa Maurits | Permalink| Comments (0)

On the left in this picture you see Oom Nolly, doesn't he look like his son Harold? Oom Willy is standing in the middle. And to the righ it's Opa Maurits, he really looks like his son Raimond.Posted on February 16, 2004 at 08:53 PM in Opa Maurits | Permalink| Comments (0)
